iOS won't play next song half the time

It seems like about half the time, when I get to the end of a song in a playlist, album, radio, anything, it just stops with 1 to 3 seconds left and won't go to the next song. I've had it happen regardless of what I'm trying to listen to, custom playlist, a normal album, whatever. It's seriously enough to make me want to cancel my premium, I can't keep reaching to my phone to go forward a song every 3 minutes while driving.
