iPhone wont download local files from PC

I'm trying to download a track from my computer to my iphone, so I got it to show up in (On the desktop version of Spotify) the local files section, where I then made a sperate playlist and put the song in it. It shows up on my phone, but its greyed out and when I try to save it for offline it just says waiting to downloadand wont change. I've tried reinstalling the app and turning off the firewall but it ddn't seem to have any effect. I also know for a fact that I have more than enough space on my phone for it. Over 1gb. Can I get any help?
