iPod Touch app freezes every time I update my playlists on my PC

I am sick and tired of having continually to delete the app and then re-synch all my offline play lists (plus locally synched files) every time I add and/or move around playlists or playlist folders in my Spotify account on my PC. The problem is every time I have done this in my Spotify account on the PC, when I then try and open the Spotify app on my iPod Touch 4th Gen, the playlists come up but as they were before my changes in my Spotify account and the app is frozen on the old playlists page and then automatically closes. Rebooting the iPod and trying successive times to re-open the Spotify app on it does achieves nothing. The result is that you cannot even go into settings in the Spotify app to try and log out of the app and then log in again. This is more than just irritating and because it results in me losing my offline synched playlists every time, it is making me seriously wonder whether the Premium service is worth keeping when it works so poorly with offline playlists/locally synched files.

My iPad copes with this with no problem but my iPod has this problem every time! I'm going to try logging out of Spotify on the iPod before doing any thing major  in future with my Spotify account on my PC but I really shouldn't have to do that.
