iPod Touch stops playlist in car randomly

Hi All,

I have an iPod Touch and I have successfully synced my songs/playlist etc. to the iPod, so I can listen to them in the car on offline mode.

At first they work and then randomly they will just stop working and it reverts back to the itunes music? Even though it has not been touched? Sometimes it will happen within a day or sometimes a few days? There seems to be no pattern?

I tried the following to see if that resolved it but it didn't:

1. Made sure the iPod Touch is up to date: iOS 9.3.5
2. Deleted and then reinstalled the Spotify app and made sure that is up to date: 7.4.01643
3. double checked the songs are synced correctly to the offline mode

This also happens with my partners iPod (same version) in their car. The three cars we have tested this is are:

VW MK6 Golf

VW MK7 Golf

VW MK6 Polo

Also I am a premium subscriber.

Do any of you know why this is happening? I really hope it is not a compatibility issue with Volkswagen as every other streaming service has been fine.
