only local files sync onto iphone 4S

i have several playlists on my spotify account on my laptop and had successfully synced all of them onto my iphone 4s when i bought it. the app i downloaded was slow and i deleted it and installed the same one again hoping it would work better. however, now only local files appear on the app and my songs won't sync onto my phone at all apart from a string on random tunes. i don't understand why my app won't sync ALL my playlist(s)?
