John and his wife moved into independent flats from Potens residential services, and continue to be supported by Potens. Now settled, John has been working as a Volunteer Park Ranger at Birkenhead Park.
He is extremely passionate about h...is work and wants to feel he is helping his local community, alongside his own personal goals. As a volunteer Park Ranger, John’s outdoor tasks are carried out in groups: cutting back vegetation, planting, and leaf clearance, depending upon the season and park requirements. He has helped to maintain the park for some amazing and unforgettable events, such as Olympic related activities, Race for life etc.
But he has not stopped there, his passion and the confidence he has gained working with the Park Ranger’s team, has led John to volunteer to help tend gardens at other local Potens services. John is considering whether he may be able to start a local gardening business.. http://www.birkenheadpark.com/..
