I'm disappointed that Spotify draws its capital from Peter Thiel's Founders Fund. Last year, Thiel bankrolled Donald Trump's campaign with a $1.25 million contribution, despite the Republican candidate's horrifying remarks about sexual assault, his mockery of a disabled reporter, and his demonization of Mexican immigrants and practicing Muslims. Since taking office two weeks ago, Trump has put the country on a dangerous course. I cannot, in good conscience, continue to pay for Spotify Premium, knowing that the company's profits enrich Thiel — and by extension, Trump's 2020 campaign war-chest. Until Spotify removes the Founders Fund from its investor list, I will seek out music elsewhere.
