I have seen other posts which seem related to this (e.g. https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Spotify-Connect-volume-slider/m-p/1548721) which makes me think I'm not alone in the issue I am experiencing.
The slider on the Spotify desktop (Mac) app is SUPER sensitive and appears to behave differently if set beyond around 15% volume. From 0-14% the sound (when played through a Bluetooth speaker) is relatively quiet, however turning the volume up even one 'notch' from quiet suddently makes the volume around 40-50% louder (basically too loud for a shared space). The massive jump means I'm constantly either listening to my music quieter than I'd like or blasting it - so much so, I often forgo the better quality speakers for listening through my laptop where I at least get more control over volume (there doesn't seem to be the same issue when listening locally).
Has anyone else experienced this? This is something that can be altered in some sort of settings? Any help gratefully recieved!
