Account cancelled then higher charge offered when I try to re-activate

I recently changed my bank card due to losing original one. This resulted in spotify cancelling my account when they tried to take payment on the old card that was no longer active.

Instead of simply updating my card details I was only offered the chance to 'get premium' as if I was a first time user. When I went to do it the price was £12.99 instead of the 9.99 I was paying.

How can I speak with spotify to get my account activated at the same price I have been paying for months instead of this new higher price offered to new customers?

Hi! Welcome to the Spotify Community! Sorry you're experiencing this problem.

Oh dear! I looks like you're paying through Apple through the Spotify iOS app.To go back to the regular 9.99 price you must go to the iTunes store in order to cancel the spotify permium that your ordered from the iTunes store and cancel that way and then you can subscribe through the spotify website.

You might have subscribed to premium through the iPhone or iPad app.

To cancel your subscription, you need to cancel it from iTunes. Your subscription is being handled by Apple.

THEN, head on over to the Spotify website to resubscribe at the $9.99 price
