Account hacked

Recently I noticed that someone was using my account as it came up with a message "You are listening on iPhoneDELCURAWICHA".


I used the contact us form on spotify and I jsut got the following email:


"Hi there,

Thank you for your message. We’re sorry to hear this has happened to you while using Spotify. 

We have been looking into your case and will investigate further. While we do this, we’ve also taken the precaution of blocking all users -- including you for now -- from accessing your account. We've also erased your payment details for security purposes.

In order for us to verify that you are the rightful account holder, please provide the following:

  • The earliest Spotify payment receipt you have available 
  • A screenshot of Spotify payment on bank or PayPal statement

Once we have the above information, we will proceed to investigate.  

In the meantime, we strongly suggest you change the password on your Facebook account, since your Spotify was created using these details. We’d also recommend changing the password on the email address registered to your Facebook, just to be sure.

My earliest receipt was just a text based email that was sent to my account and I did a screenshot of my Paypal transaction but how long does this take to resolve? it's taken Spotify a day to respond each time.

Spotify tries to respond to all support cases as soon as possible. If you've provided the requested info to be able to verify your ownership of the account, you should have access back to your account very soon. 🙂
