Account used by someone else

Hi community

Today i logged on to my spotify account, only to see my playlists have gone and "recently played" contains artists and song i never heard of.

I could see from the devices, that someone was playing the music on his iPhone.

How do I recover my playlists and make sure the guy is prevented from doing it again?

First off, change your password! Ideally to something complex and random, at least 8 characters, mixed lowercase/uppercase letters and numbers. Something that is not easily guessed. Don't write it down anywhere, and don't share it with anyone.

Follow this guide: https://support.spotify.com/uk/account_payment_help/account_help/someone-has-gained-access-to-my-acc...

Secondly, you may be able to recover your playlists like this: https://support.spotify.com/uk/account_payment_help/account_basics/can-i-recover-a-deleted-playlist/

I got the same problem, there's an iphone user interrupting me while I'm playing my spotify, he changed my favourite song to his since 5 days ago (some spanish songs I guess). I immediately logged out from all device and changed my password. Why is this happened? Where did he get my account?

Sometimes people simply guess the password, but it could also be that you used the same username and password at other sites, and that those sites got hacked. You could also have shared your account at some point or used it on a publically-accessible computer and left it logged in.

I would highly recommend changing your passwords on any sites and apps you care about, and not reuse the same password for multiple sites or apps.

You can check here whether your username(s) have been among those leaked from major websites. You can trust the site, it's a highly regarded security website, they don't give out your information, they only tell you whether your username may have been compromised.
