Android Spotify subscribtion/location error

Solved!

Android Spotify subscribtion/location error

Hi.

I have a Spotify Premium subscription and like those on in this post:

i am having problems with the ip location vs. country in spotify profile.

It works fine on my PC, but on my android phone and tablet it insists that i am in a different country.

I get the message:

"You´re logged in as (number). If you wish to switch to another user or create new account, please log out.

If you intend to use a payment methid registered outside Denmark you need to change your spotify country to match."

The problem occurs:

- When i try to disable shuffle in the "play screen".

- I press the menu icon on top left and press "Upgrade to premium".

I have done the following:

- Checked that whatismyip.com says i am in Denmark.

- Checked subscription details at spotify.com.

- Checked credit card is danish.

All three check out.

The main problem is obviously that it plays commercials constantly and i am only allowed to shuffle. Not play a specific song.

What should i do to solve this problem? Am i missing something obvious?

Just want to check. You said that your account overview showed "Username: louise.granby". If it is linked to facebook then it also shows your facebook real name, above and that same real name is shown in the app settings? You are logging into spotify on mobile with facebook?

The thing is that the username louise.granby doesn't appear to be linked to facebook so it sounds like you are logged into two different accounts. What happens if you log out on mobile and log back in with the username and password?

You should never see a country related error if your account is on Premium. When you log in on your mobile devices, can you see all of your playlists?

It is also worth double checking your account is showing as Premium (not unlimited or free) on your online account?

Hi Peter.

I have checked the "Subscription" page on the Spotify homepage.

See the attached cropped screenshot.

I believe it says i have Premium and it updates August 2nd.

The "Overview" page says exactly the same.

Recently (maybe four weeks ago) there was an update to the spotify app, and all the playlists disappeard and the problem started.

It seemed like they closed an old version of the app and started a new one on Google Play. After that the problems began.

The playlists are still available on PC.

Weird, what username is shown on this page?

Hi.

Username: louise.granby

Which is the correct username.

If you go to the spotify settings page and scroll to the bottom. what username is shown under "Log out"?

Assuming you mean on one of the devices - it doesn´t say a username.

But it says the full name from the same spotify account as the username mentioned earlier.

So it would seem to be the same account.

Hi Joe.

I never log in with facebook, always the username and password from spotify.

I never use the FB login system in general because i worry that some unwanted posts will appear on my facebook account.

HOWEVER, for some strange reason it did the trick. I logged out, and logged in again with the credential on the two devices and both of them are working now without shuffle etc.

Thank all of you for your help.
