How do I check my balance?

The best way is to log into your account here:  https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/

Once you are on that page, it will show you your next billing date.  For further information, click the link on that page labeled "Manage subscriptions and payment."

Is there a help  phone number?  I am trying to add a new credit card but it is declining and I don't know why
