Can I add music from a previous account to a new account using the spotify download?

Can I add music from a previous account to a new account using the spotify download?

I'm in a kind of odd situation. I made my account YEARS ago using my Facebook as the login. Earlier this year, I decided to deactivate my Facebook for good, and thus, my Spotify user name is now just a string of numbers and I can't edit any of my personal details.

This sucks because it means my friends can no longer search for me to find my playlists. My Facebook account is also past the point in which I can reactivate it.

I know that I can't change my account name without deleting my Spotify account and starting over, but I'm also a music junkie with thousands of liked songs and dozens of carefully crafted playlists (a decades worth at least).

I'd like to know that if I start over with a fresh account, I could simply connect my download of my previous account to a new one so that I don't have to painstakingly re-like thousands of songs.

Is this possible?

Contact Spotify directly if you haven't tried request to download your data, if all else fails, just add a new acc, and start fresh, but lastly all users name /tracks has a uri behind it, so unfortunately it will do the same thing

Hi @1212705983,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

If you create a new account and would like to be able to access your playlists from your old account,  you can follow the steps in this Spotify Answer regarding sharing playlists from one account to another via copying and pasting playlist URIs. This method doesn’t involve the download feature; however, it will allow you to add the tracks from your old account's playlists to playlists in your new account, or to your Liked Songs there.

Or if you prefer an alternative method, you can also make your playlists on your old account Public, then search for your old account’s profile while logged into your new account, and then select the tracks from all the playlists that you’d like to transfer and add them to new playlists in your new account. You can read more about how to do this in this Spotify Answer.

Also, if you have tracks in your old account’s Liked Songs playlist that aren’t in other playlists there, and you’d like to transfer them to your new account as well, you’ll need to first add them to a new playlist in order to be able to copy them to your new account (as Liked Songs isn’t currently shareable).

In addition, you will need to download what you would like to have available for offline listening after the process of saving the music from your old account to your new account.

I hope this helps, and let us know if you have any other questions.

Have a good day!

Can these "shared playlists" include my "Liked Songs"?

Hi @1212705983,

That’s a good question!

As I mentioned in my previous reply, Liked Songs isn’t shareable (it doesn’t have a URI code and can’t be made Public). So you’ll need to first add the tracks from Liked Songs to a new playlist on your old account, in order to be able to copy these songs to your new account.

Let me know if you need help with this, as well as if you have any other questions.
