Can account followers and playlist followers transfer over to a new account?

I was told the only way to change my display name was to create a new account.

I'm now wondering if playlist followers and account followers will transfer over if I ask the support team to transfer my stuff to a new account.

p.s. and if my student discount could possibly transfer over
