Can't play new releases or albums. Why?

Can't play new releases or albums. Why?

Yesterday I opened the Spotify app on my Macbook Air. I could only play songs that are part of playlists. Example: My playlists, playlists in the Genre&Mood sections. When I go to the New Releases tab and click on an album nothing happens. It stops the music that is currently playing and nothing shows up or plays at the bottom. Same for when I go into the Discover tab and click on something recommended. It WON'T play. Just goes blank. Whats up?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Same issue here. Premium member, I've logged out/back into the app to no avail. Strangely, clicking into an album/artist on either the Discover or New Releases tabs and then playing the song works just fine. It just doesn't work through those two Browse tabs. Playing music from Overview, Charts, and Genres & Moods work just fine.

Edit: Just wanted to mention that I'm on macOS, Spotify version 1.0.60.492.

Having the same issue, i can't play the discover playlists and new releases on my laptop (acer aspire e14 windows 10) but i can play it on my phone. It doesn't play anything and just goes on blank. Hope someone can resolve this issue immediately

Same here. I cannot play new releases or playlists, but can go into the album and play the songs individually. (Premium User, Windows 10, have tried reinstalling the software from scratch)

Same here on my Premium account. Still not fixed....

The only way to listen to the new releases is to go on the album/artist page.

I've been having the same issue for the past two weeks.

Same here as well, on Windows and happened last two weeks as well.  You can go into the album and click the tracks and play, but not the play button on the list of new releases.

Should also note the discover tab items won't play either.

Windows 10 Home running the latest version of Spotify. Can't play any of the New Albums and Singles under New releases 😞 This is frustrating.

Just wanted to follow up that as of this morning, the functionality seems to be working properly again, with no changes to my system (likely a backend issue on Spotify's part?).
