Canceling Facebook, but still want to use Spotify.

I have deleted my Facebook account. When I log into Spotify it reactivates it. I do not want to reactivate the Facebook account, and I am not a premium user on Spotify. I initially set up my Spotify with just an email address and not through Facebook. How can I avoid reactivating the Facebook account every time I log into Spotify?

You just need to log into Spotify using your Spotify username (not your email address) you created when you registered and your password, then in the desktop client go to Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook and that will break the Facebook connection for you.

It will only let me log in using my email. However I did log in to see if I could still disconnect from Facebook and there was not option of that kind under Edit>Preferences. I have the username "colbystuder" for community, but I cannot use it to log into spotify.

colbystuder - your Community username is separate to your Spotify login. Currently your Spotify account is connected to Facebook, so you'll need to use that to login.

You can create a new account here and we can always help out with moving across playlists, etc. if you need it.

emmajokaz - what are you trying to do with Spotify, and what's going wrong? Have you got any screenshots?

Peter already mentioned it, but it might be worth redownloading Spotify if you're having trouble.

Then let us know how things go and we'll help from there!

Thank you. I just ended up creating a new, seperate account. How do I go about deleting the one tied to my facebook since the facebook is what I am wanting to be deleted?

We can take care of removing the old account. Anything you want salvaged from it?

I can't delete your actual Facebook account though!

There is nothing to salvage from it. I have already copied over all my playlists and everything I want to keep from it. I did need to create new community username (colbystuder3) since "colbystuder" was attached to my account connected to facebook. If  we could get the other one deleted that would be cool.

colbystuder - all taken care of! I've also performed the relevant switcharoo with your Community usernames so you can keep your name.

emmajokaz - do you need to create a new account? Is anything wong with your current one?
