Cannot change country without changing plan

Cannot change country without changing plan

I moved from Canada to the USA.

Im trying to change my country on spotify to the USA.

When I select USA it takes me to a page of the plans. It shows which plan is my current plan but doesnt let me select it. Seems as though I am forced to switch plans because of a UI bug. I should be able to select Premium Duo, but the button to select it is simply missing.

I am extra triggered by bugs like this as I am a software development professional.

Plan

Free/Premium

Country

Device

(iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy 9, Macbook Pro late 2016)

Operating System

(iOS 10, Android Oreo, Windows 10,etc.)

I had to select Basic Duo and then change it to Premium duo after.

My advice is for the engineers at Spotify to simply stop updating the App. You are not adding any value!

Hey @22siyqdicbj7zvx, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

The country or region of your Spotify account is based on where you were when you signed up. If you move somewhere else where the Spotify service is available, you need to update your country or region so that the appropriate service for your new country of residence can be made available to you, which may cause changes to the applicable pricing and catalog availability.

I appreciate your feedback about this and I will make sure to pass this on to the right folks. I’m also happy to hear that you were able to resolve this and subscribe to a new plan while in the USA.

Let me know if you need help with anything else!
