Cannot change region from Netherlands to Germany

I have been had spotify premium for years, initially in the UK, then about 5 years ago I switched to Netherlands, now I am in Germany and I am not able to switch my region to Germany.

I waited for the payment method to fail and then cancelled my subscription to go to a 'free' account, since I couldn't change anything while I was 'premium' and saw some notes on a message board that I might need to wait until the account switched back to Free, to be able to change your region in profile. 

Now it is free, I select change region in profile and the only two options I see are Netherlands or Great Britain... 

I tried updating payment method but it says the card doesn't match my region. 

This has taken at least an hour of my time by now and I can't find any solution.

I want to switch to German account and subscribe to the 'Duo' plan so my girlfriend can join me since we live together in Germany.

Thanks for coming to the Community.

If you're in Germany, you should be able to select Germany in the dropdown menu. Make sure you're not using any VPN/Proxies 🙂
