Cannot reset password

Hey, I forgot the password to my account (I am still logged in on this computer). When I try to reset the password I get an Email with a reset link. However, when I click that link I get forwarded to a page that says "Your password reset link is not valid, or already used."

Is there any other way to reset the password?

I tried that previously with the same result. The problem was resolved in another way. I contacted customer service via mail and they just sent me a link that let me reset the password. Thanks for your support!

Hi @rori

If you're still logged in, click your name in the top right of Spotify then "Account..."
This should open a browser tab with your account page logged in. Go to the Profile section. At the bottom of the page you can reset your password

Thanks for the quick answer. However, it didn't solve my problem.

When I want to change my password in account settings, I am asked to type in my current password in order to confirm the changes. And as I don't know my current password, I am facing the same problem as before.

Ah, could you try these steps instead (thanks @Peter__ ).

 

To get a password reset:
1. Go to https://www.spotify.com/password-reset/
2. If you get redirected to your online profile (where you need to current password to make the change), you are still logged into the website. Click on your name at the top and choose Log Out. 
3. Return to https://www.spotify.com/password-reset/ and you should be able to request a reset.

thanks for your reply, but this also leads me back to my original problem. I receive the link to reset my password, but this link forwards me to a page that says: "Your password reset link is not valid, or already used." (See the attached screenshot)

Strange what browser are you using?
Password reset links should be valid for 24 hours as far as I am aware.

I use Chrome, but I tried Firefox and got the same results.

Can you try copy and pasting the link from the email (request a new one) into your browser address bar rather than just clicking on the link and see if that makes any difference?
