Cant change my Email Address

Im trying to change my email address to my gmail account which is also linked with my facebook account. The current email address in my profile is not in use. And the one Im trying to change to doesn't work. It says the email address is already in use. But it should be me! Help pls

Sorry to hear you are having issues with Spotify. Please could you try sending a password reset link to the gmail email https://www.spotify.com/password-reset/? - We just want to make sure no account is attached to that email.
