Connect to a device

Hi forum

Has anyone been able to connect their phone app to the app on their TV? I would like to use this feature it'd be so much easier controlling the TV app through my phone plus the hi-fis connected to the TV.

Both my phone and TV are on the same WiFi and both apps updated but my phone app doesn't seem to be picking up the TV in the connect to a device setting.

Any help would be good

Using LG smart TV and a Sony xperia z3 compact phone (android app)
