Converting two premium plans to duo. Do we lose our individual content?

Converting two premium plans to duo. Do we lose our individual content?

Hi there. My gf and I are both on individual premium plans. We want to convert to duo. If we do this though, does the person who converts into the other persons duo account lose all their saved music? How does that work? And what happens if we want to split the plans back out to individual premium plans from duo in the future? Would each of us lose our individual current playlists, music, saved songs etc converting into duo and then back out in the future to 2 premium plans (the way it is now)?

Hey there!

Your Premium Plan is like an add-on to an account. No matter what the plan is, your account's contents will remain the same. A Duo plan is like paying for 1 individual plan, but 2 users can attach it to their account.

You can find more about the Spotify Duo plan here.

Here's a guide on how to switch from a Premium Individual plan to a Premium Duo plan.

Okay thanks for your reply. To confirm though when we move from 2 premium accounts to 1 duo our liked songs, playlists won't get merged then correct? Meaning our individual content currently on our 2 premium accounts will still stay separate?

Hey @jtavy10,

That is correct! Both accounts and their contents will stay separate. You simply pay less than what you would have been paying for with 2 accounts on Premium Individual as you live under the same roof 🙂
We're here for you if any further questions arise. Cheers!
