Does spotify work in Czech Republic?

First of all I am sorry if I posted this in wrong section but I didnt know were i should do it.

Like the topic says (Does Spotify work in Czech Republic?).

I am from sweden and moved to Czech Republic because of my studies here, but when I got to Czech Republic, my swedish free account stopped working after 2 weeks and I am a person that do my studies with music very much. My spotify says that I have to upgrade my swedish account, but for time being I can´t afford that.

So i did a new Hotmail which I wrote that I am from Czech Republic but in the top of the spotify webb page It says (Spotify is currently not available in your country.) Is this true, (if true for how long would it take for spotify to be available in Czech Republic?)  or is It because that I have a swedish computer or is it something else?

If anyone know how i can use spotify again would be appreciated.

Hey there, Spotify is available in those countries Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

There is no ETA when or if Spotify will be available in Czech Republic.

If you sometimes travel to those countries, you may be able to find local stores where Spotify gift cards are available. Sop you can redeem those in that country and create account. Premium can be used then everywhere.

I am currently in France where Spotify works for free. But I am going back to Czech Republic soon. Do I have to subscribe for the Unlimited account or the Premium one in order to be able listening to music even in Czech Republic.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

Your free account will work abroad for 14 days. If you are going to be in the Czech Republic for more than that, then you should subscribe to unlimited or premium before you leave, as it will give you unlimited abroad usage.

When you say "go back to Czech Republic" do you mean you normally live there? You need a payment card in the correct country to pay for a subscription.

Find gift cards or have a friend in a Spotify country use their card on your account. There's an option to pay for an entire year in advance (120€).

Yes I normally live in Czech Republic. So I am wondering how can I use Spotify when I´ll be back. The comment above said that I have to pay for Unlimited or Premium account and I´ll bbe fine. You said smth a bit different. So what do I need to do?:))

Hanys - As Spotify hasn't launched in the Czech Republic just yet, you'll need to subscribe to Unlimited or Premium using your French card details, keeping France as the country in your account.

There's no other way, I'm afraid.

Yes, you have to pay for unlimited or premium and you'll be fine. As long as your account is unlimited or premium, all region limits are ignored and you can use Spotify.

However, what I was saying, credit/debit cards registered in Czech Republic are not accepted so you can't actually pay for a paid account using those. If you have a credit card registered in France, you can use that.

If there are gift cards for sale in France, you can redeem those too.

Ok..that sucks a bit..:) Do I have to pay with french card or american will be fine as well. I mean is it fine to pay with a card issued in that countries where Spotify is working? Or since I registred in France I have to pay with french card as well?

Hanys - It will probably be easier using your French card, as your country is set to France. If you'd like to use your US card, you'll need to change your country to the USA.

If I purchase premium or unlimited access gift card using my Spanish Paypal account and send it to my friend back home, will he be able to use it to acquire Spotify account? Or do I have to create an account for him from Spain?

Your friend won't be able to create an account from a country where Spotify is not yet available.

You could do that, however, I won't directly advise it since it is against the terms and conditions of use.

 As long as the account remains premium and is being paid for using a payment method which is registered in the same country as the spotify account, it will be accessible from anywhere in the world.
