Error trying to setup password

I've made multiple attempts on multiple different browsers trying to set a Spotify Password.  I cannot use the Facebook login.

Each attempt I get an email invitation, click a link, and it gives me an "Oops" error message on the Spotify page.  There doesn't appear to be any way for me to set a password on my account currently.

First guess is this process is broken on the Spotify server side however if there is a trick to get around this I'm happy to try it.

Don't worry, let's try to troubleshoot this 🙂 If your account was created with Facebook, you'll need to set a device password through Facebook. I'd suggest going through this thread as it offers very helpful suggestions on how to do that.

Is it not possible for me to have a Spotify User Name (email) and Password that has nothing to do with Facebook? I do not want my account associated with Facebook. This was a mistake out of convenience when I first created my account and I want nothing to do with Facebook.

That sounds like a different issue. I'm just pointing out that if you have a Facebook-created account and you need to set a device password, you'll need to do it through Facebook, by following the instructions in the linked thread I provided. If you want to change the password to log in to Spotify and your account is created with Facebook, you'll have to reset your Facebook password for that.

However, if your account is created with a Spotify username, you can follow this guide on how to reset your password:

About your last reply however, if your account was created with Facebook, then it's not possible currently to unlink it. You could, on the other hand, get in touch with a member of the Spotify staff to help you backstage with this.
