Hi I just got a email from "hello@news.spotifymail.com" now it looks pretty legit but I'm not sure about the senders email.
is this legit or what's up?

I got the same e-mail and the links do not work. Seems like a legit e-mail. The method posted above is not working for me. When I view the message source, I hit ctrl+f to quickly find www.spotify and there is nothing in the source that starts with that. Would really like to try another free month because I am going to be traveling during the holidays and would love to use it on my phone again.
If you're not using Gmail, it should work. If you're using Gmail, you could try making an Outlook account and forwarding the message to it. I submitted feedback to Gmail asking them to add a way to view the source code.
I got it to work. I was viewing the page source and not the e-mail source. Got my free month again. Seemed a little fishy with the links not working and then wanting a credit card again, but it seems to all be ok. My account updated to premium and my player updated instantly as well. Thanks Spotify!

Yeah, it's like most other internet things. You need to provide a payment method to even get your free trial, just make sure you cancel it before the trial period is up if you don't want to keep subscribing. Netflix, Hulu, and Pandora do it too.
It worked! I read through all the previous posts and still couldn't get it to work and in on of the post this link was displayed www.spotify.com/purchase/product/welcome-back/ so on a whim I clicked it and it took me to the welcome back free 30 day subscription page were I resubmitted my card info and received another free 30 days of premium.
fixed for me with the very same link, i just activated the trial 🙂
Thanks for sharing that link! 🙂

I also received this email (from hello@news.spotifymail.com: Go on, let's try again - here's a month's premium for free ....) and the link does not work, but if I copy the url address in the browser I does go to the page where there is information of payment. My question is: is this a spam mail or email was really sent from spotify? because I do not want to enter my payment if I do not have this certainty. thanks to all
If you are being asked to enter your payment details and you are on spotify.com (a secure page) then you should be good to go. The regular free premium trial requires you to enter your billing details so you can be billed automatically if you don't cancel inside the 30 days, so I am assuming this one is the same.

guys it'd save you lots of time if you read a post or two above instead of just jumping on the reply button. myself and a few others already said the situation is resolved. i actually saw someone post a screenshot of the email they recieved about the second free trial two posts below my screenshot showing exactly the same thing, they were asking if anyone else had the same problem of the links in the email not working.. if they'd read back, they would've answered their own question lol 😉
So, my issue isn't with the link opening. I use gmail and all links worked. I went to spotify to get another free month trial of spotify premium, filled out my new payment info, and even got a receipt in my email for doing so. My issue is that my spotify app doesnt seem to recognize that I've done this. It still maintains that I am on the free service, not my trial premium. Is there a step to activating the free trial that I am missing? Even stranger, now when I go to the spotify website, and check my account information, it reads as if i never updated my payment info, yet i still received an email receipt that i did. Help?

Does your email receipt have a username in it?
It sounds like you might have upgraded the wrong account. Its amazingly easy to accidentally have two accounts one with a Spotify username and password and another using Facebook details.

n fact, the problem is not that the link does not work but to understand if it is a fake as it requires me to enter the billing information that I had already entered above.
Hey there! thank you for the help, but my problem isnt solved yet. perhaps you have an idea of how to make this work.
So I am finding that I think you are correct. At some point I must have accidentally made a second account thru my facebook. This is the account for which I have a free trial, but when I try to log in using the facebook created account, it simply resorts me to my already existing account, which does NOT have the free trial and I am stuck where I began. Do I have to reinstall the app? I have a feeling that won't even help. Is there a way to merge my two accounts?
@niffirgmada If you could contact the accounts guys here, they'll be able to get it sorted. Merge of accounts included.
Hi,
I've got the same mail and problem with it.
Can you explain more detail please how i should do it?
I found a link that looks like that:
TextSemiBold"><span email="no-reply@spotify.com">Spotify</span></a></div></span><span class="Ct"></span><span class="Io"><img src="./clear.gif"
Is it right or rong? Where should I paste it?
Thanks in advance!

No, it doesn't work....
I get the charge view on the page, 99 SEK.
and a text:
"It appears that you've already been a premium user and this trial is only valid for new users. If you'd like you can still upgrade your account to premium at any time."
I also received the same email and tried to click on the button to take up the free month of premium. I wrote a complaint to Spotify via the Contact Form to say the email link wasn't working and I didn't hear anything back - very dissappointing. Spotify, I have the contact form case reference if you'd like to follow up.
Does this link not work @charlotteswebby ?
