Gift Spotify Premium

https://www.spotify.com/us/yearly/ says the Premium yearly subscription is available at 99$. 

I am trying to gift Premium to somebody and I only see the subscription price listed at 120$ on the Gift link - https://www.spotify.com/us/purchase/ecards/

Why is this?

How can I gift an annual subscription at 99$??  Thanks.

Hey @NameIsBob,

You can't directly gift this to another person. 

What you could do is...

1. give them the money to purchase it themselves
2. create an account for them/log into their account and pay for it using an alternate payment method of yours.

Thank you for getting back to me. What about about gift cards? Can I give
them a $100 Spotify gift card for them to purchase the subscription
themselves?

Unfortunately not. Gift Cards are not redeemable in conjunction with other discounts or promotions, such as Premium for Family, student discount, or trial offers.

Maxim.. Thank you, I will send them a check. 

But feedback to Spotify - this is completely absurd. If there is a special promotion, why can't your users gift a subscription at the special price? At the least, users need to be able to give gift cards and the recipient should be allowed to use the money towards the subscription.
