Greyed Out Tracks

OK I have a Peter Gabriel album US which are m4a files. I also have Peter Gabriel UP. What is going on with the grayed out files which play in spotify on my mac but dont show up on my iPhone which I have just resintalled Spotify on.

Both screen shots are attatched. I cannot work out why one of there is one track not greyed out 'signal to noise' is the only one that I can make available offline on my iPhone.

Help please  !!

Hey @dktom and welcome to the Spotify Community.

Some songs are only available in specific countries, probably is this album with almost all songs one of them. I think it has to do with  your region settings.

Those songs appear not to be in the Spotify library, every song has to be licensed to be streamed on Spotify, once Spotify can gain the rights to a certain song/album it can be added to the catalog, here is more information 🙂 You can add your local files though and sync them with Spotify, just add them to a playlist, connect your iPhone to the same wifi as your computer, click your iPhone under devices and click "Sync with Spotify" check the playlist with the local files in it 🙂 Here is a good article on local files. Also it may appear on your computer because in preferences might have this unchecked:

You can do this on IPhone by going to settings --> playback and make sure "Hide Unplayable tracks" is not checked. This will not mean you can stream them, but they will appear in your search, they will just not be able to be played. There is also a quick form you can fill out to give Spotify feedback on what songs you want to be added to the Spotify library here, but this does not guarantee it will be added in the future.
