How to change Premium subscription

I cannot find how to cancel my Mobile Premium subscription. There appears to be no 'subscripton' page  on the app and it is not showing up as a standing order/DDebit with my bank.

Cancel Premium

 

To cancel your subscription, you need to sign into this page:

 

https://www.spotify.com/accounts/subscription/

 

Cancel Premium via iTunes

 

If you don't see a cancel option,

You might have subscribed to premium through the iPhone or iPad app.

To cancel your subscription, you need to cancel it from iTunes. Your subscription is being handled by Apple.

To cancel and delete your payment info, do the following:

 

1. Go to your Subscription and payment overview --> http://spotify.com/account/subscription/

2. Click UPDATE DETAILS. If it shows below 'Would you like to cancel your subscription?' click there and cancel.

3. Check the box to 'Remove', and click 'Change' button,

 
Note: If you have your Premium active you won't be able to remove your payment info. That's why it's important to cancel before clicking UPDATE DETAILS.
 

Without any payment details, no new charges can be made, but if you're an iphone user, you do need to check your itunes subscriptions for Auto Renewals and turn it off for Spotify.

Hey @user-removed,

 

Depends if you pay through iTunes or directly to Spotify.

 

Do you get email receipts for your subscription purchases? Search for one of them in all of your email accounts. In it, the Spotify username you're paying for is shown:

 

Username/ID:        xxxxxxx

Logout of the app, and be sure to use that username to login to your account. It's the one with the Premium features.

 

You can login to the website with that username to check the status of your subscription, and your receipts. In there you can cancel if you want to, and delete your payment info.

 

Without any payment details, no new charges can be made, but if you're an iPhone user, you do need to check your iTunes subscriptions Auto Renewal and turn it off for Spotify.

Problem Solved - Solution

 

If you clicked on the 'Subscription' Tab on the left of your account & found there's nothing more to click on in order to modify that's because it's a done deal at that point. Which is why you will see on the right side a chance to change your mind & stay with Premium by clicking the Save. 

 

The frustration is not knowing that a simple click on the Subscription tab is all it takes. I was looking to cancel in order to switch to the family plan of another household member. Spotify handled it easily & within 24 hours.

 

All it took was clicking on the Subscription then logging out. I then received an email for the family invite went through a couple easy steps & that was it - done deal with complete satisfaction!

My subscription was set up through a mobile service provider (Vodafone) , i want to cancel my premium subscription i have reached out to them but they did not help me to cancel. They say they are not authorized to cancel. they do not know how to do.

If you're getting your subscription through your mobile provider, it's them who cancel the service, since it's them who charge you for it in the first place.

 

Your Spotify account gets linked to your mobile number and that's it. No payment info is recorded in Spotify's systems, and therefore no charges can be made by them.

 

If you receive or have received Spotify payment receipts, then you can cancel in your subscription page.

Hello,  this is a different situation, I just like to ask regarding not cancelling my previous subscription and I've been invited to be in a premium family plan and accepted it, will this automatically change my subscription plan? how about the monthly charges? will it change automatically? thanks.

Hey @user-removed

 

Don't worry, your remaining time from your regular Premium will 'freeze' and will become available once you're out of the Family Premium. You won't get charged, just be sure to use the same username you've been using all along.

When you are on the page to close the account there's not the usual
confirmation / 'send" tab to but it will still close the account. A follow
up email may take 2 to three days. I know that it appears confusing but it
will close your account.

Just cancelled as I now get it free from Vodafone. I need to cancel the night resubscribe. Does this mean I’ll loose all my playlists I currently have????

Hey @user-removed

 

You won't lose any playlists, friends, or your music library, as long as you keep using the same username you've been using. Those are independent from your subscription status.

Hi Users from Philippines, just wan to know, coz' I currently paid an spotify fee cost Php129.00 for me to subcribe the premium. But what sadden me is still my subcription is still FREE. Please see screenshot for reference.

You should fill out the contact form, and someone from Spotify will be happy to help you within 24 hrs. Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.

 

If you get an automated email directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you.
