I was blocked by a user. I also want to block that user, but I can't because I can't see the user's profile.

If a user has blocked you, you will not be able to interact with them, nor see their profile. Blocking does not work both ways, because it is intended to stop one side from interacting with the other. Since they have blocked you, they will no longer see your profile, nor will you be able to see their profile.
