I have not linked my account to facebook, why do they know what I play?

I have not linked my account to facebook, why do they know what I play?

I have tried my best to avoid sharing my music-habits with facebook, and inside Spotify the menus show the option "Connect to Facebook...", so that tells me that my account should not be connected.

But I'm now rather horrified to see on my "Music"-page  on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/[username]/music) that it shows me not just some of my recent playlists, but also tells me how many times I've listened to this and that song!

This is NOT acceptable!  I do not mind an option to share individual songs to facebook by clicking on a share-button, but I will not have you uploading my listening-habits to facebook en masse!

I think I managed earlier to make sure that my facebook music-settings is so that anything I share is only visible to me, but that's beside the point. I simply do not want facebook to have access to what I listen to, and when.

I can see good reasons for having a certain amount of facebook-interaction in spotify, like being able to see a list of all my friends, and what playlists they CHOOSE to share. But I should not have to share my listening-habits with facebook to achieve that.

Hey 🙂

In your client preferences (Edit > Preferences) do you have the "Share my activity on Spotify Social" or "Show what I'm listening to on Facebook" buttons ticked? If so, you might want to uncheck them and see if that corrects this issue.

Also, do you normally sign into Spotify using a Spotify username and password or using your Facebook details?
