Log in problem

I have been using my Android spotify app offline. It has now asked for my username and password to use the account. After entering the correct info the app tells me that I am offline and must go online in the app. Catch 22. if cannot open the app I cannot go online. This has now happened to me about 5 times in the last 2 months. the only way I have found to get around it is to remove the app and all downloaded songs and reinstall. downloading the songs again at extreme quality takes forever. I am paying a subscription for this service and it is not performing as it should. Is there a fix for this?
