Logging in with my spotify account

When I try to log in via my spotify account it just keeps saying that my password or account name is incorrect, but it isn't or else I wouldn't be able to log in online. What should I do?

There's your problem. Email is used for Facebook logins. Type your Spotify username, not your email.

So is this happening with your desktop app or with a mobile? Are you using your 'ablie.123' username or your email?

 

In the meantime, I'd definitely give a quick clean reinstallation a go.

How's it working after that clean reinstall? Have you tried a password reset right here: https://www.spotify.com/password-reset/

 

Please let me know if you're getting a specific error code as well. 

I tried the reinstall and it didnt work and yes, I have tried a password reset.

Hm that's quite strange. Not to fret, there's some other steps we can try.

I am having the same issue. 

 

Bought a new computer. Trying to log in to Spotify account for the first time on this machine. (So it is the first time opening Spottify desktop app on this computer) When I enter my email adress and password (associated with my Spotify account) I am told that the username or password is incorrect (no specific error code). I have already gone and reset my password through Spotify.com and successfully logged on to Spotify.com with my username and password, but then when I return to the Spotify Application on my computer, I am again told that the username and/or password is incorrect, although I am using the same, newly reset password.

There's your problem. Email is used for Facebook logins. Type your Spotify username, not your email.

i would like to change my spotify login from facebook login to email login... How to do that? kind regards

Email logins are used for facebook accounts but you can have an account with a username which isn't linked to facebook. If you get in touch with the support guys, using the  contact form they'll help you and even move over any playlists etc. to your new account for you. If you get an automated response directing you back to the community or to the help pages, make sure to reply to it directly (even though it is from a no-reply address) to speed things along.
