Hi giovanamanica!

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

The greyed out tracks just mean that those songs are not available and it can vary from country to country. This could be due to licensing or the request of the record label or artist. Unfortunately, this is something that Spotify doesn't have control over as it is up to the individual music companies.

If you want you can submit your music requests here.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hey @giovanamanica, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Thanks for the screenshot. The friend that sent you those songs, do they live in a different country? Also, could you try a clean reinstall of the app following these steps, and let me know if the songs still look greyed out?

I can also check to see if those songs are available in your country. Let me know what country you reside in, and tap the '...' next to the song > select Share >  Copy the link and paste it here.

Keep me posted! I look forward to helping out 🙂

Hi! I already deleted the app to see that would work, it didn’t. Yeah, he lives in the same country. This a example of a music I can’t play.

Hey @giovanamanica,

Thanks for the link. I am unable to check it it's available in your country since you didn't provide me which country you're located in.

In this case, if you're not able to play the songs he sent you - they may not be available in your region. There is more info on this here.

Hopefully these songs are available on Spotify soon 🙂

I'll be here if you need anything else!

Hi, we both live in Usa and the same region, he lives 15 minutes away from me.

Hey @giovanamanica,

OK, let's take a closer look.

Can you let me know if you're using a VPN on your iPhone? Also, let me know what your current iOS version is. You can check for this info by going to Settings > General > About.

Did you try a clean reinstall of the app using the link I provided in my earlier replies? And, if you have a different device could you let me know if the songs are greyed out on there too?

Hey @giovanamanica,

Hm, that's odd if it is also happening on a different device, and you have tried reinstalling the app + the person who sent you the songs lives very close from you.

Can you try opening the song link you provided in your earlier replies here on a different browser or private window (don't log in) and see if you're able to play or even access the song? I'd recommend doing this step on a desktop computer or laptop.

Keep me posted!

I opened the link in a private window, but it says that I need to log in. But is weird, because even trying to play the song here in the conversation it plays. I used to have this account in Brazil, but everything now is linked to Usa, and I don`t have a VPN, so I really trying to unterstand why this is happening.

Hey @giovanamanica,

Okay, thanks for playing it - I wanted to see if you were able to play it somewhere else where you weren't logged in to your account.

Can you make sure that your country settings are set to the USA? You can manage your country details here

Also, if you try to create a new account (just to test), are you able to listen to the song from that new account? If so, let me know and I'll see what to suggest going forward.

Let me know what happens!
