My Discover Weekly is stuck on "rap" as the ONLY possible genre.

I can't figure out why the algorithms or whatever picks this Discover Weekly playlist has me completely stuck on gangsta rap or new rap. That's IT.

It has been stuck on this one single genre for several MONTHS, even if I go an entire month without listening to a single rap song my "Discover Weekly" will be nothing but hard core rap.

I listen to pretty much everything and I swear for weeks I have listened to maybe a couple tracks in "rap" here and there — but every week without fail my Discover Weekly playlist is absolutely NOTHING but rap.

And frankly the tracks it picks for me are 90% garbage I can't stand.

I just wish I knew if there was something I could do to coax it to "DISCOVER" that I actually listen to rap about 10% of the time.

Otherwise I consider this a completely broken and useless feature.

Is there anything I can do in order to widen the range of music that shows up in Discover Weekly?

Is there a setting somewhere I may have unkowingly triggered to explicitly tell Spotify to "do not put any music outside of the 'gangsta rap' genre in the playlist under no circumstances whatsoever, not even if he listens to nothing but classic rock for the next 3 months?"

This week it was nothing but god darn awful "trap music" — I guess that's rap where they don't really have a beat and the rapper doesn't follow the beat the song doesn't even have.

And in the mix was ONE "Audioslave" song, right in the middle of all this awful awful rap music I hate.

This algoithm they use to decide what music they think I like is retarded.

I wish I could "thumbs down" every god darn song in this "Discover Weekly" playlist because it sucks so bad.

For me it's not stuck on rap, but on swedish dance band music (best described as "swedish country & western" I guess), a genre I absolutely HATE. I promise that I don't have any such songs in my playlists or "liked" any. I might have listen to some that fall in the category of "irony" and some artist may be in my Christmas playlist (with other type of music, but same artists that normally play "dance band").

This is making the "Discover weekly" completely useless for me... 😞

Give me vote up and vote down buttons like in "Radio"!!

Mine is stuck on what I refer to as "planetarium music." It's all stuff that I'd listen to if I were meditating. I don't listen to any music like this regularly, and have been liking other genres to try to fix but nothing is working or updating it. I'm about to unfollow and flip it the bird for good - which saddens me since it was one of my favorite features of my PAID MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION... SPOTIFY PEOPLE - HOW DO YOU FIX THIS?????

Same problem here, I get the same retarded rap music week after week regardless of what I've been listening to. It's the most retarded debased trash too, like 9 words in your vocabulary auto tuned horse$h|t.

mine is stuck on music with matel gotic grunting voices.

i hate grunting. than the next weak it is stuck on hardcore, way to extreeme. than it is stuck on classic "the boring kind". and finaly it is stuck on somting i call sweaty smelly polish rusinian guy drunken on cheap beer, after i played one song like that to troll a friend on his birdthday party. Why make a full play list based on one song between 1000 other songs in.

it is seeking out only the extreemes. and the new love and doint love system does not help.
