My Spotify account won’t update according to my Facebook account.

My Spotify account won’t update according to my Facebook account.

I am currently living in Sweden with my girlfriends family and wanted to join their family premium subscription. However, Spotify doesn’t change my country although I have already changed it on Facebook.

Thanks for reaching out.

 

The country of your Facebook account does not affect the country of your Spotify account at all. 🙂 You can update your country setting by following the steps listed in this support article.

Hi and thanks for the input!

 

When I try to change my country according to these instructions, then I am unable to do it, as the option doesn’t allow to change my previous country, Iceland (see first photo). There it suggests that I need to change my payment method before I can change the country.

Then once I try to change my payment method, it tells me that my Swedish card doesn’t match my country (see second photo)… do you see the conundrum?

My account was originally created through Facebook, which is why I figured Spotify hasn’t updated my info through there, as suggested in the instructions (see third photo).

At this point I have no idea what to do, I hope

this gives better insight into my problem 🙂

Thanks for your reply. 

 

If you have an active subscription, you'd need to cancel it first and wait for your account to revert to the free service. Once that happens, you'll be able to change your account's country settings with the steps @Maxim sent previously and then accept the invite for the Premium Family plan.
