My Spotify app keeps switching to my brothers even though I never knew he had one

My Spotify app keeps switching to my brothers even though I never knew he had one

My Spotify app keeps switching to my brothers even though I never knew he had one.

It randomly switches depending on when I open it, any idea why, new update?

My brother has a free account and I have a student premium account so it’s weird as **bleep** and I have to log out of his and then log into mine.

Hey @dillonmackay5, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

It is currently not possible to be signed into multiple Spotify accounts on the same device. If you two share the same device to use the Spotify app, you may need to perform a clean reinstall of the app following these steps. Also, keep in mind that when you close the Spotify app - it does not automatically log that person out of their account unless that user changes their password.

Spotify is also designed for personal, non-commercial use. Therefore, you cannot listen to music at the same time on different devices signed into one Spotify account.

If you are facing a different issue, please let me know what's happening in more detail (any images or videos of what's happening would be very helpful) and we can take a closer look together.

Hi there @31cykk6zk2k6nitv7vca,

Thanks for your post here in the Community. We apologize for the delay in our response.

This is quite odd, and it shouldn't happen. For starters, we'd recommend both you and your brother go to your Account Overview pages and Sign out everywhere. Once done, each of you can log back in from your devices and check if that makes a difference.

On another note, we'd recommend that your brother deletes the Spotify saved passwords on his device. His device might have your account's credentials saved and that's how he ends up logged in there. Here are the steps on how to do that if he has iOS, and here are the steps for Android.

Let us know how that goes.
