New bank card (Monzo), so card declined, but then payment taken?!

New bank card (Monzo), so card declined, but then payment taken?!

I'm really confused, I have a new bank card and my old one has been cancelled. In my banking app I have a message to say payment declined due to a new card being issued. Which makes sense...but then the payment to Spotify has immediately left my account, when I look on Spotify I can see this has been paid via my old card too? How is that even possible?

Hey there! I am happy to help. 

 

I would reach out to your financial institution because they are able to authorize and decline payments. Spotify only processes the payment for Premium once per month. You can always update your payment details following these steps to reflect the new card, and you can view any transactions made between you and Spotify through your Receipts page
