On Unlimited why is there a difference between playing on different devices?

I get that Premium is all about downloading content to play anywhere, but why when I could sit at home listening to Spotify on an Unlimited account fine on a laptop can I not do the same with the mobile without ads and without that stupid enforced shuffle?

As paying customers we should not be getting ads like free users anywhere in the system, and the setup is the same bar the device I'm using, it's not like I'm after any extra features I can't do on the laptop.

Hi @nomdeplume and welcome to the community 🙂

This has been asked before - many times, in fact. The main reason I guess is that Unlimited was originally designed for those that needed no-limits and ads, without the need for mobile play.

It's still there for that reason, and it has never been advertised as for mobile listening. Spotify need to make their money somehow, and Unlimited probably (I don't know) doesn't make them much.

You're paying for Advert-free listening on Desktop.

P.S I don't think any of that made sense...
