Only "Male" and "Female" available for choice

My friend from Russia wanted to try out Spotify, but they can't register, because they're asked to mark their gender as either "Male" or "Female", and they don't identify as either. What can they do, and why do you remove that option in certain regions?

I've seen this being pointed out in other questions, but they never got an answer.

That is odd because here on the community page, you can select your pronouns and they have "they/them/theirs" as an option.

Yeah, that's strange. You can set your pronouns to they/them/theirs regardless of the region.

Indeed, last week I felt like a unicorn and I didn't find the option either.

Please, the only thing that unites us all here is music itself. An intangible, unique and universal good that doesn't judge anyone based on ethnicity, gender, disability, politics... Therefore, why should we distinguish ourselves from each other to simply listen to music?

Activities such as music or sport should never be subject to any kind of transitory ideological tendency, especially if it is to fill the ego of a minority.
