Password problems

I have forgotten my Spotify password, and earlier when I tried to reset it I did not receive an email. I therefore connected my Spotify account to my Facebook account - problem solved temporarily. Now I want to inactivate my Facebook account, but that will log me out of Spotify. And I still don't remember my password, and once again had to log in with Facebook - which of course reactivated my Facebook account.

Still, while logged in with Facebook, I can not change my Spotify password. It requires me to verify the changes with my current password - the one that I can't remember and won't receive a reset email for!

PLEASE help, this is driving me crazy.. I really want that password reset email. From what I have read here on the forum this has been an issue for several users.

That's a fine mess you've got yourself into but no worries, it can be fixed. Please use the contact form to explain the situation and someone at Spotify can help get this sorted.

If you get an automated reply directing you back to the community or to the help pages, make sure to reply to it directly (even though it says not to) to speed things along.

If you forget your password, you can request a password reset from the login screen but you do need to log out first. A facebook linked account uses your facebook credentials so any password changes/resets are done through facebook.com. Hope this helps.

Requesting a new password did not work. I never got a reset email - that was my problem. I contaced Spotify and that emailed me a link - problem solved. Would be easier if it worked in the first place, though. 🙂
