Profile in Google Search.

Profile in Google Search.

I recently discovered, while googling myself, that I have a public spotify-profile with my profile picture from Facebook. I may at one point have connected my spotify-account with facebook, but have since removed the connection, but appearently Spotify still accesses my pictures.

How do I make my Spotify unpublic, and how do I remove the connection to facebook? Spotify is a great tool for listening too music, but I have no interest in having a public profile. There should be an easy way to disable this.

Hello @VIR2L

There is no way to make your profile completely private, but you can do the following:

  • change/remove your profile picture
  • make all of your playlsits secret from your profile page (privacy option is under the cover art) meaning your profile won't show any of your playlists.
  • untick the two "Share my activity" boxes in Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Activity Sharing which will hide all of your Spotify social activity from your followers.
  • untick all of the options under the "Profile" section of the preferences menu and that will hide all of the information from your profile including new playlists.

Hope this is helpfull.

How is this obvious security risk not been addressed. This was flagged as a problem over a decade ago:

Has this been removed please? I have to set my playlists private one at a time, I've got hundreds.

We shouldn't have to remove our Display Picture from our Profile, it removes it for Followers then, and hide parts of our Profile from Followers. This doesn't address my Username is still public. People use their Username everywhere.

It's not people's playlists people are considered about, it's our privacy related information such as Display Picture and Username.

We should have control over what Google etc... sees!
