No. You must keep Facebook active to keep using Spotify.

This is one of those things that Spotify does that i find to be absolutely, blindingly stupid.  What a simple technical thing to achieve and yet Spotify makes it impossible.  Add that to the process of selecting offline devices and as the two most bewildering things about this company.  It's the the most amazing bargain for me and I love the service but silly things like this force me to consider other options.

I want to seperate Spotify from my Faceboook account.  I don't even know how they became connected.  If I have to cancel my account to do it, perhaps i'll just cancel my acount and consider all of my options before reopening it.  These are easy things for Spotify to correct.  Lke many new tech upstarts, inflexibility to the customer may be what determines future success.   This is sad.   Going to cancel my acount and perhaps recreate it so i can seperate it from a social media page that has ZERO to do with my relationship with Spotify.

@badsines - Follow the steps here (carefully) to disconnect your account from Facebook 😉

Thank you for this.  I have read it before and it says that it is not an officially supported solution.  If i decide Spotify is what I'm going to keep I suppose I'll have to do this.  I don't want to have to find "workarounds" for problems that just make no sense.

My other issue I had before was selecting offline devices.  I want to control in "My Settings" which devices are set as offline devices.  At minimum, I want to see what they are.  If I'm using Spotify as a remote device and at a party and my son logs in from his friends house and sets his device up, I don't want it to turn mine off out of some random selection process.  I want control of that.

And i don't want to bound to a social media page because i accidentally logged in with it.  I want a music service that gives me control and respects my relationship as their paying customer over a corporate relationship with a social media giant.

Going to do the 30 day trial of another service.  If I like it better I'll stick with them.  Too bad really.  I love Spotify other than a couple of silly things.
