My Question or Issue

Whenever I am trying to log into my Spotify account an error pops up. It says "Oops! Something went wrong, please try again or check out our help area". I have been trying to find a fix to this problem and I think it is because I only have that option to continue with google available. I created a second account with another google email and just used the regular sign up options (creating a username and password) and that account works just fine. Should I just forget about my original account or is this something that has a fix?

This is the second account that I mentioned in the original post. Just thought that I would clarify a little.

Does this happen in the Spotify app or when you're trying to log in on our web page

 

This can sometimes happen if you move countries. Go to your Account Page here and check that the country set on your account matches the country that you're currently in. If the countries don't match, you can follow this guide to update your information.

This happens when I am trying to sign in on both the app and the webpage because I am signing in with the "continue with google" option (I assume that is the problem at least). I am not signed in to the account that this problem happening to and therefore can not change the country for it. I do not know if there is a way to add a password to the account so I can log into it without needing to first sign in. I have tried multiple times to reset the password for the account but no email was sent.

If it's possible, could you even try logging in on a different device to see if you'll get the same error message?

 

If the issue persists, then it's best to reach out to our colleagues from support and you can do it via one of the ways here. Unfortunately, here from the Community we can't check your account, but the colleagues can take a look backstage to see what's happening there.

I tried to log on to the account that this problem is happening to on another device but that didn’t work. So I contacted one of the people at customer support and it took a couple of minutes but eventually they got my account working!

I would like to know how this got resolved. 
I just started using spotify a week ago, but i already cant access my account anymore. I signed in with google, like the original post, but every time i try to log in now i get this message "something went wrong" on mobile app and "Oops! Something went wrong, please try again or check out our help area" on the PC.

I have tried to sign in on other devices and tried to login without password (no user found with this email address), i tried to create a new account with my google email address (email address is already linked to an account) and reset password ( i get no email with the reset link). 

I do not have a instagram, twitter or facebook account so this forum is the only way to get to support. But to post here i also need an account and there is no other way to contact support. so therefore i made this account with trash email address. Already thanks for that. 

Okay, so how to fix this. 
Dont try to solve this by yourself. You MUST need to make a shitty 2nd account to throw away later. Use this to find your way to this page https://support.spotify.com/us/article/contact-us/ again. Now with this second account you can actually use the chat with customer service. As you cannot do this while not logged in. 
Then you answer some default bot questions untill it will enable human support. After that, the human will redirect you again to send an email to their support address with a subject conversation ID. And then they might solve it? IDK, but dont expect this to be resolved smoothly.
