Songs and playlists lost--replaced by new songs and playlists

Hello,

Today I logged into Spotify to find that my playlists were all deleted (including My Discover Weekly) and replaced with playlists I did not create (containing songs I don't listen to).

I checked my "Songs" folder and noticed that many new songs have been saved in my folder--songs I have never listend to before. I checked that my old songs were still saved--this appears to be the case, though I am paranoid that it is possible some older ones were deleted.

No one else has used my account. This occurs both on the web app and my iphone app.

Does anyone have any idea what could have happened, and how to fix it?

First please follow the steps provided on this help page in case your account was taken over.

Regardless, you can visit Spotify.com, log in to your account and check the "Recover Playlist" feature to check if you're old playlists are still there.
