Hi Guys,

 

I'm trying to renew my spotify premium subscription but all I'm getting is a message reading 'sorry wrong password'

 

Any ideas?

Hey everyone-- So a couple of you are experiencing different obstacles here. 

 

Stefanpm- I recommend trying another browser again (but be sure you clear the cache and cookies from the Internet browser you choose). Also, please be sure you log out of the Facebook website.

 

Then head over to your subscription page and give that another try.  

 

headzoo & dannekerror- In addition to changing your Internet browser, I'd make sure the credit card you're using meets all of the following requirements:

 

1. Your card must not have expired. 

2. The country set in your Spotify account profile must match the country where your card is registered. 

3. Your card should be enabled for e-commerce transactions (Verified by Visa/Mastercard securecard card).

4. Your card must be open to be used for foreign purchases.

5. There are some banks that require other security authentifications, the most common one being 3DSecure.

 

mali- I can see you were able to upgrade successfully. Which step worked for you?

This is a little strange. Are you logging into the website with the username 'dvglvr' and your Spotify password?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Yep, logged in with my username and password and then tried to upgrade.

 

I've chosen Premium, payment method and then hit continue. A message appears in a pink box in the top left hand corner saying 'Sorry, wrong password'.

Hi ! I tried to upgrade tyo unlimitid but I also in´ly gett the answer "sorry wrong password". I have logged in with my password!

Hi Solkattsvind,

First I recommend changing your Internet browser.

Once you've done that, head on over to Facebook and make sure you're logged out of your profile.

Give that Unlimited upgrade another try after those two steps--thanks!

It still doesnt work. Now I get "purchase not available"...

 

Please help me.

did you ever figure it out? im having the same problem and i need to cancel my subscription asap

Hi! I can see @Solkatsvind, you were able to upgrade to Unlimited and @trish you were able to cancel.

Glad to see that's sorted for both of you. Which step proved successful for you?

I'm getting this same error in all browsers when I try to upgrade to premium. I don't use Facebook (Managed to signup for Spotify before you starting requiring Facebook accounts), so that's not the issue.

I may of found a solution: Log out the Spotify website and Desktop/Mobile Aplliacation and then log back in and try again, this is caused because you might of updated your profile/password or other details on facebook within the last week or so and it has not updated to Spotify.

Intel® Core™ i5-2500K Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.70 GHz), 4GB Ram DRR3 (800Mhz), Intel 3000 HD Graphics, 500GB HDD at 5400 RPM, 250GB Extra HDD at 5400RPM, WIn7 Home Premium

They should be a little more concerned about this issue. Where there's smoke, there's fire. For every one of us writing in the forums about this, there's at least a hundred other people having the same issue. That's $10 per person Spotify is losing out on.

There is something very wrong with Spotify. I have tried for two weeks to get this problem solved. Again... And some smart persons at Spotify have succeded in this before, but they´ve obviously not let the others to  know. I think they have to do something to the account...in a more handcrafty way. The support service is in a downslope, last time this occured, in december, we mailed each other once a day. No I get an automatic answer...  

When Neb, Last time,  was through with the standard procedure and read what I´had written to Christine according to this mess in november, he solved the problem.

 

So please Christine or Neb, do it to me one more time.

 

And btw, why this crap with password... I´m not taking from yoy, I want to give you my money...Right?

I just want to reiterate: I DO NOT have a Facebook account. Not only do I not log in using Facebook credentials, but I don't even have a Facebook account. I was one of the lucky few that signed up for Spotify before they started requiring Facebook accounts. So if their developers are sitting around saying, "Hrm.. What is the problem here? Lets take another look at the Facebook authentication." That is not the problem. Or at least it's not the whole problem. There is something more fundamentally wrong with their authentication system.

Im having the same issue, getting a bit annoying. Driving to work just isnt fun anymore without premium...

The response above worked for me ^ 

My friend has lost both userID and password.

I've tried to reset using email info, but spotify does not even regonize email.

 

Anyhow visa card is billed every month.

Do you have any idea what to do?
