Spotify Duo after moving

Spotify Duo after moving

Plan

Duo

Country

Austria

My Question or Issue

I recently moved from Brazil to Austria and am now living with my boyfriend. So we decided to create a Spotify Duo account. I however now get an error saying, that I am not in the same country as by boyfriend (we are however currently living in the same appartment).

I tried changing the country in my profile information, but the dropdown is disabled and locked to Brazil. I already canceled my existing Premium subscription.

Does anybody know how to proceed?

Hey @Nath_milani,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

We understand you want to join the Premium Duo plan set up by your partner. As you have been a Premium user in a different country, you'll need to wait until your account switches back to free before you can change your regional settings.

As you mentioned that you've cancelled your subscription already, you should be able to see the date when your profile will revert to free in your account overview. After that you should be able to switch your country to Austria (as you are there now) and then receive the invitation link from your partner 🙂

Also, some more info on how to join a Duo plan can be read here

Hope you find this useful. Keep us posted if you have any questions.

We have kind of the same problem I think.

We are a couple living in Belgium, in the same appartment, we took a Premium Duo. However, my partner is receiving an error message when entering our address saying that we should be in the same country.

I think it might be linked to the fact that my Spotify account is registered in France, as I was there when I subscribed and my credit card is linked to a French bank account.

However, we did live in Belgium wheere we are now, the address linked to my account is the belgian one and my partner is entering the same one.

How can we deal with that problem? We subscribed a month ago and we still cannot enjoy the abonnement...

Thanks for your help!

Sarah
