Spotify Premium to Premium Family Billing Question!

Spotify Premium to Premium Family Billing Question!

Hi Guys,

I've been invited to Spotify Family Premium by a housemate. I currently have Spotify Premium and I want to accept the invitation but I noticed that only a day ago I was charged my monthly Spotify premium fee of $11.99.

My question is...do I lose this $11.99 completely or is this balance at least credited to my housemate as the admininstrative user?

Also...what is the process for making the switch to premium family? Do I 'cancel my subscription' and then accept the invite?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers 🙂

Nathan

Hey @Nathan_Lee,

When you accept the invite, you're added to Premium for Family straight away. You won't be charged for your account any further. Your future payments are handled by the Premium for Family administrator. Any Premium time you have remaining will resume if you leave Premium for Family.

Hoept this helps!

Hi Maxim,

So does this mean that my recent $11.99 payment will go towards my administrators account or fees for running premium family? I just dont want to have wasted $11.99 to be honest.

And to confirm, are you saying that I do not need to cancel my current subscription but just accep the invite? How will this work if my address is different on my premium account? (I got premium when I resided at a diffferent address).

Cheers,

Nathan

Hey @Nathan_Lee,

Yeah the remaining Premium time will basically stay in your account and it will continued when you leave the Premium for Family plan.

That is right, you don't need to cancel your subscription before joining someone's Premium for Family plan. It doesn't matter where you've lived when you signed up for Premium. 🙂

Hope thsi clears things up!

Hi Maxim,

I have successfully switched to premium family but now when I went to go back into my spotify online (i.e. on my PC) I cant seem to find my music??

Where do I locate this? Please do not tell me only the admininstrator has access to this!

Cheers,

Nathan

It sounds like you've got a second account with Spotify. Are there any other email addresses you could have used to register with Spotify? It's worth checking those inboxes to see if you have any Spotify emails -- that will mean your extra account is registered with that email.

  • If you don't have another email address, note how you log into the Spotify app usually.
  • If you use your Facebook details try entering your Spotify username (if you created one originally).
  • If you use your Spotify username try entering just your email address.
