Spotify account compromised

Spotify account compromised

My Spotify account was hacked on Jan 14 and the linked email id was changed. The subscription was changed from a Premium to a Family and base country was changed from US and France.

 

Luckily, I was able a pull out an old Spotify email from my inbox that helped me reset my password and then change my account's email address.

 

Is my account compromised? Need immediate help!

Hey there @riazamr, welcome to the community!

 

It sounds this way 😞 If you were able to get access back into it, make sure to change your password to a more secure one.

 

Some additional things you can do is to go to your Account page, and click to sign out of all devices. If you are a Premium subscriber, you can also remove all offline devices that aren't yours.

Hey @kateshere, that did not help me solve the problem. I had to contact Spotify tech support to reset my account and remove all payment details. This step helped to reset my Spotify account preferences and subscription. I had to start from scratch, but luckily my Playlists were intact.
