Spotify says my email is still in use when trying to change it

While looking at my spotify account I realized that my email that was listed there was not my email and actually had a typo in it. When I tried to edit it it told me that my email already was taken. I then realized that I had, had an old account that had the same email that I never bothered to delete. I figured out how to login to my old account and I deleted it because I thought that would unlink my email to it and I could put my email into my new account, but I kept getting the same message that my email is already in use. I just want to make sure that my email is linked to my account because it has playlists on it that i have been building for years.

Thanks for coming to the Community.

 

After closing the account, it will take 14-30 days for the email address to become available for sign-up again.
